Laurie J. McAndrews, 63, of Rockford died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at her home.

She was born on March 6, 1955 in Sterling to Edward and Marjorie (Fritz) McAndrews.

Laurie was employed in the trucking industry for over 25 years. She was a kind and compassionate person who put others before herself. Laurie enjoyed traveling, camping, being outdoors and shopping especially for that perfect bargain. She was a member of Gilda's Club of Madison. Laurie loved keeping in touch with her friends and spending time with her family. She graciously loved the time she spent with her faithful canine companion Max whom she will be missed dearly by.

She is survived by her son, Jason (Jaimie) Villa of Sterling; sisters, Connie Boonstra of Lyndon and Nancie Vaughan of Rockford; grandchildren, Dylan, Andrais, Antonio, Sylvia, Adrian, Mazzi, Alyssa and Anthony; and a great grandchild, Maleiya. Also surviving are special friends Irma and Laiza whom she cared for deeply and were like daughters to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Joshua.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 4 from 3-5 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls. A memorial service will follow at 5 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Russo, officiating. A memorial has been established in her memory.
