Larry L. Standard "Lude", age 60, of Sterling (Como), died Friday, February 18, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Larry was born August 27, 1961 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Charlie and Johnnie (Gooden) Standard. He served in the US Navy and was later employed at Edelmann's in Dixon for sixteen years until becoming an over-the-road truck driver. Larry enjoyed fishing, playing disc golf, motorcycle riding, drag racing, shooting pool and diamond painting. His heart was kept beating by the use of an LVAD machine, which blessed him with an additional three years to his life. His heart continues to beat within each of his beloved family members.

He is survived by his mother, Johnnie Standard of Rock Falls; his life partner, Jewel Rolen of Sterling; his two puppies, Baloo and Snuggles; six children, Jeremy (Amanda) Standard of Port Byron, Justin (Bero) Standard of Dallas, TX, Sasha Rolen of Sterling, Jessie Rolen of Ashton, Anthony (Carelle) Standard of Dallas, TX and Destiny (Jorge) Dugger of Dallas, TX; one sister, Judith McCloud of Rock Falls; one brother, Rob "Shady" (Michelle) Standard of Destin, FL; extended sisters and brothers, Deb (Norris) Tucker, Becky (Jim) Pepper, Niky Druien, Cece (Tim) Stover, Dan (Angie) Parke and Monica (Mike) Wofly; thirteen grandchildren, Madisyn Standard, Payton Standard, Sofia Standard, Maverick Standard, Ayden Dugger, Devyn Dugger, Lexi Gispanski, Donovan Rolen, Jayda Rosenow, James, Kaia Rolen, Zeao Rolen and Yuli and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Jennifer (Jayce) Standard; grandmothers, Wanda Green, Nita Gooden and Irene Shopher; grandfathers, John Gooden and Maury Green; and two uncles, James Standard and David Ekholm; and Cecil Parke.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 from Noon – 2:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
