Larry "Bumpy" D. Oviatt
Larry "Bumpy" D. Oviatt, age 67, of Sterling, died Monday, February 27, 2017 at his home.
Bumpy was born July 2, 1949 in Savanna the son of Ray and Imogene (Handel) Oviatt. He was employed at Angelo's in Sterling for many years.
Survivors include two sisters, Florene (Jerry) Shaw of Sterling and Debbie (Paul) Hardey of Morrison; three brothers, Rick (Michelle) Oviatt of Mt. Carroll, Jim (Bev) Oviatt of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Greg (Bunny) Oviatt of Mt. Carroll; one son, Tully McAuliffe and granddaughter of Savanna; his step mother, Norma Tate Oviatt of Bellevue, Neb.; two step brothers, David (Christy) Tate of Rock Falls and Rob (Kristy) Tate of Grand Detour; one step sister, Eva (Mark) Tate of Bellevue, Neb.; many nieces and nephews; his special friend, Becky Verhulst; and many other special friends at Sterling Towers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vicky Oviatt; one step sister, Laura Tate; and one special friend, Louise Meggs.
A gathering of friends and family will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9 – 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church, 501 Broadway Blvd. in Sterling. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the church with Pastor Brad Wilson officiating. Private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll.
A memorial has been established.
