Kenneth Andrew Edward Boesen, age 75 of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with ALS.

Kenneth was born on September 8, 1941 the son of Kenneth E. and Helen D. (Cantlin) Boesen. He graduated from Newman Central Catholic High School in 1959 and then attended Loyola University. He served in the United States Army as a MP. Kenneth married the love of his life, Marian Long on July 25, 1970 in Rock Falls. He was employed by Northwestern Steel and Wire for 38 years. He was the past President and District Administrator of the Rock Falls Little League. He helped as the founder of the Rock Falls Girls Softball. Kenneth was an avid fisherman and a die-hard Chicago White Sox and Green Bay Packers fan. His family was his life and he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting and school events.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marian; his three sons, Shawn (Olya) Boesen of Clear Springs, MD, Rhawn Boesen of Sterling and Kenneth (Michelle) Boesen of Rock Falls; three sisters, Mary Kay (Eugene) Zinanni of Sterling, Ann (Ray) Macri of Bolingbrook, Il and Teresa (Dennis) Davies of North Edward, CA; five brothers, Jim (Karen) Boesen of Sterling, Bill (Bev) Boesen of Sterling, Jake (Monique) Boesen of Annadale, VA, Larry Boesen of Rock Falls and Tom (Rhonda) Boesen of Indianapolis, IN; nine grandchildren, Rhyan, Chris, Tara, Irina, Sage, Bailey, Olivia, Kenny and Rebecca; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, JoAnne Boesen and Marian Boesen Barron; one brother-in-law, Robert Eddinger.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. 1002 12th Avenue. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling with the Reverend Bruce Ludeke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling with full Military Honors.
