June Elizabeth Metcalf, 97, of Lyndon, died on Friday morning, July 14, 2017 at Prophets Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown.

Mrs. Metcalf was born on April 25, 1920 in Galt to Fred and Nellie (Frye) Scott. She married William Grant Metcalf in 1938. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Barbara (Richard) Hadcock of Walnut and Dolores "Dee Dee" Szymanski of Dixon; her sons, William George Metcalf and Dennis (Jill) Metcalf, both of Lyndon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and 7 siblings.

A visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Sunday, July 16 at McDonald Funeral Home, 46 Grove Street, Illinois 78 North in Prophetstown. Cremation rites will follow. Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. A memorial has been established in her memory. To send condolences visit
