STERLING – Julie Helen Zink, 65, of Sterling, died on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at CGH Medical Center. Julie was born on April 28, 1956 in Sterling, the daughter of Milton and Betty (Appenzeller) Ward. She married Dennis Zink on May 29, 1976 in Sterling. Julie was employed at the Whiteside County Health Department for over 20 years, and retired in 2015. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and was an animal lover.
Survivors include her husband Dennis, of Sterling; two sisters, Sandra Lewandowski of Indianapolis, IN, and Beth Fiorini of Sterling; one aunt, Dorothy Rock of Sterling; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Ellen Ward.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00-5:00pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Memorial service will follow at 5:00pm with Reverend Bree Truax officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Happy Tails Animal Shelter.
