Joy Holland, age 89, our beloved mother passed away on January 5, 2018. She was born in 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Harms in Avon Lake, OH. She married J.P. Holland in 1950 and had two children, Mark and Sharon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. P. Holland (John Perry Holland); her parents; five sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by son, Mark (Bonnie) Holland and two grandchildren, Max Webb and Sarah (David) Beals; daughter, Sharon (David Britt) Holland; daughter, Nancy (Bill) Lea; and son, Jim (Pat) Holland and family; numerous nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

When she and J.P. were in Sterling she was an active member of The Open Bible Church for many years. She and J.P. had a wonderful life. They relocated to Albuquerque in 1979 following J.P.'s retirement from Frantz Manufacturing Company. They traveled the world together and were madly in love until the day he passed in 1995. She was an entrepreneur at heart owning several businesses, most notably the House of Joy Dress Shop in Sterling and in Albuquerque, NM. She retired in 1991 to go to work for her daughter's veterinary clinic as a bookkeeper and self-described "gopher." She will be remembered for her gentle gracious spirit and the beautiful legacy she left behind for all that knew her. She had a peaceful death in her home surrounded by family. She is now at rest with God forever.
