Joseph W. Lewis, 69 died Sunday April 21, 2019 at the Citadel of Sterling.

He was born on October 26, 1949 in Rock Falls the son of Charles and Irlena (Markem) Lewis. He worked for many years as a rehabilitation aide at the Exceptional Care and Training Center in Sterling. He had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his son, Jarod Lewis of Rock Falls and his daughter Miranda Lewis of Rock Falls; his former wife/best friend Barb DeJonge; his sisters: Faith Spencer, Ethel (Fred) Swanson and Mary Ann Stern all of Rock Falls; his brothers: Mike (Dede) Lewis, Dave (Bobette) Lewis and Philp Lewis all of Rock Falls; four grandchildren: Elysa Montooth, Angel Perry, Jessykah Lewis and Jayda Lewis; two great grandchildren: Jasper and Noah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles "Chuck" Lewis.

At his request, cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life service held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.
