Joseph George Fiorini, age 96 of Sterling, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Regency Care of Sterling.

Joseph was born on February 22, 1921 in Rock Falls, the son of Antonio and Rosa Fiorini. He married Marjorie N. Frank in 1953 in Good Hope, IL. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2011. Joseph served in the United States Navy. After graduating from Moler Barber College, he worked for Esquire barber shop in Rock Falls for 20 years and then at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 32 years until retirement. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer, the 1939 Rockford Novice Champion. Joe was a past member of the Rock Falls American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid pool player. He always made sure his kids had "Good food and good shoes". Joe loved his grandchildren and children more than anything.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph (Christie) Fiorini of Sterling, Kevin (Gail Alden) Fiorini of Chicago and Trent Fiorini of Sterling; one daughter, Karon (Donald) Wolber of New Glaris, WI; two sisters, Amelia Wolf of Peoria and Gloria (Bruce) Lundquist of Rockford; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Roxanne) Fiorini, Lucas (Lindsey) Fiorini, Austin (Emma) Fiorini, Alexandra (Derek) Wagner, Elizabeth (James Nowers) Fiorini, Rachel Wolber, Halston Wolber and Dylan Wolber and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Reverend Richard Russo officiating. Burial with Military Honors will conclude at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
