ROCK FALLS- John G. "Dutch" Bushman, 82, of Rock Falls died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Transitions Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Rock Falls. He worked for District 13 Schools as a custodian at Merrill School and the Rock Falls Junior High School and later for Tri County for 8 years as an IHEAP assistant.

Mr. Bushman was born July 26, 1929 in Sterling the son of John L. and Ellen (Welker) Bushman. He was united in marriage to Betty Tintori on June 10, 1950 in Sterling. Dutch was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. He played the drums with the bands Misfits and Eddie Crow. He was an avid sports fan especially of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Surviving are his wife Betty, of Rock Falls; his children, Larry (Sue) Bushman of Rock Falls, Jackie (Kevin) Wolf of Galt, Judy Bushman of Rock Falls, John (Rose) Bushman of Rock Falls, Jim Bushman of Rock Falls, Michael (Druann) Bushman of Sterling and Ralph Bushman of Rock Falls; 12 grandchildren, Tammie (Hootie) Wyatt of Galt, Joshua (Carrie) Bushman of Milan, Marty (Heather) Cernich of Rock Falls, Rebecca (Brian) Garland of Sterling, Mandy (Sean) Anderson of Rochester, Minnesota, Jason (Carrie) Wolf of Sterling, Jeremy (Rebecca) Wolf of Sterling, Kayla (Jason) Fargher of Sterling, Michael (Linnea) Bushman of Loves Park, Derek Bushman of Sterling, Justin Bushman of Rock Falls and Jessica Bushman of Galva; 17 great grandchildren, Joseph Wyatt, Brandon Wyatt, Cadence Bushman, Peyton Bushman, Austin Cernich, Emma Cernich, Adrienne Anderson, Regan Anderson, Madelyn Anderson, Dylan Garland, Andrew Garland, Devin Fargher, Jarrett Fargher, Kadin Wolf, Kailey Wolf, Eva Bushman and Brady Wolf, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Ralph and Francis Bushman, a sister, Nellie Williamson, and 2 grandchildren Christopher and Brian Bushman.

Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 AM Saturday, April 21 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, celebrant, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday, April 20 at McDonald Funeral Home 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls with a wake service at 4:45 PM.
