Jody R. Meiners, 44 of Rock Falls died Thursday October 19, 2017 at CGH Medical Center.

He was born on March 27, 1973 in Sterling, the son of Dale S. and Cassandra (Chamberlain) Meiners. He attended Rock Falls schools and Sauk Valley Community College where he earned his certificate as an electrician. Jody worked at Mallard Manufacturing in Sterling as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed basketball, football and was a Minnesota Vikings fan. Jody loved to grill and cook out, "AKA the Grill Master"

Survivors include his children: Ashley Garcia Meiners, Marissa Garica Meiners (Christopher Duncan), Jaelynn Henson and Cyd Meiners; his mother, Sandy Meiners of Rock Falls; his maternal grandmother Anna Chamberlain of Sterling; the love of his life, Jamie Duffy; his brother Terry Meiners of Rock Falls; his five grandchildren: Aleecia, Isaias and Saree Rodriguez; Hayzalinn and Aaria Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale; and his paternal grand parents; and his maternal grandfather.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 10 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling. The time of sharing and a meal will follow at the Hatton Center of the church. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory.

A memorial will be established.
