Joahn Kathleen (Tritz) Hacker, 91, a resident of Sterling, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her home.

She was born on January 4, 1928 in Freeport to Frank and Marie (Lyons) Tritz.

She married Don Hacker on May 22, 1948. After graduating from Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport, Iowa, Joahn went to work for Tritz Implement Company International Harvester and then later for Rock River Country Club as a book keeper until her retirement in 1985.

Joahn was an excellent cook and skilled seamstress. She enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and water skiing. She and Don loved traveling and took in many destinations throughout the years including the western states, Florida, Hawaii, Jamaica and Mexico. Joahn was a collector of hiking treasures and seashells, and loved having an occasional gin cocktail.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Don, of Sterling; her daughters, Nancy Breed of Mt. Horeb, Wisc., Patti (Steve) Miller of Las Vegas, Nev. and Karen McNeill of Beaverton, Ore.; a son, David (Donna) Hacker of Peoria, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Alex, Jennifer, Randy, Richard, Andrew, Stephen and Kevin; her great grandchildren, Madeline, Charlotte, Gwendolyn and Wesley; and two sisters, Marilyn Macko of Arlington Heights and Rosemary Koos of Benecia, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step mother, Genevieve Tritz.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23 from 1-3 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue, Rock Falls. Cremation rites will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers kindly make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 2208 E. 52nd Street, Davenport, Iowa 52807 in her memory. Online condolences may be left by visiting
