Jimmy L. Church
Jimmy L. Church, age 70, of Lyndon, died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford.
Jimmy was born October 8, 1949 in Prophetstown the son of Everett and Mabel (Warnke) Church. He served in the US Navy from 1969-1971 and was employed at Lawrence Brothers for many years. He married Gayle Powell on July 14, 2017. Jimmy enjoyed fixing up bicycles, fishing and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Church of Lyndon; one daughter, Angela (Shane Dellinger) Church of Deer Park, Texas and their children, Marissa Eikenberry, Aaron Yannotti, Zane Dellinger and Nikki Dellinger; one son, Shawn (Sharla Davis) Church of Sterling and their children, Darian Church, Gage Church, Gavin Church, Greyden Church and Greyson Church; three great grandchildren, Kadin Minx, Koby Minx and Kaleb Minx of Deer Park, Texas; four step children, John Powell, Charles Powell, LuAnn Grove and Sara Miller all of Lyndon; and eight step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eleven siblings, Everett Church, William Church, Bobby Church, Richard Church, Betty Thomas, Kenneth Church, Shirley Maes, Glenda Church, Judith Heinitz, Larry Church and Danny Church; and two grandchildren, DaShawna Church and Jeffrey Eikenberry.
Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2020 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 46 Grove Street in Prophetstown. The funeral, with military honors, will be Monday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established.
