Jerry L. Hinrichs
Jerry L. Hinrichs, age 71, of Lyndon, died Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Rock River Hospice and Home.
Jerry was born February 21, 1950 in Sterling the son of Bennie and Lois (Wolber) Hinrichs. He married Shirley Reins on June 20, 1970 in Sterling. He was self-employed as a farm tractor mechanic for 50 years. Jerry also sold John Deere 2-Cylinder Tractor Rebore Kits to customers in every state in the US. He enjoyed working on his John Deere tractors, gardening, playing checkers, and watching westerns on TV. In the 1980s, he also enjoyed antique tractor pulling and was a member of the River Bend and Eastern Iowa Antique Tractor Pullers Associations.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hinrichs of Lyndon; three aunts, Betty Hinrichs, Nancy Riesselman and Mary Wolber; one sister-in-law, Marilyn (Randy) Jacobs; one brother-in-law, Kenneth W. (Jean Floming) Reins; two nephews, Matthew (Amber) Jacobs and Christopher (Joyce) Jacobs; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
