Jerry "Cheyenne" Immel, 72, of Oregon, died on Thursday morning, January 18, 2018 in Rock Falls at the home of his nephew, Cody.

He was born on September 29, 1945 in Sterling to Tracy W. and Gladys M. (Lang) Immel. He was a dog trainer and had worked with the training and handling of many police dogs. He enjoyed working on his tractors, mowing, being outdoors, cutting wood and working with animals. He would frequently travel and especially loved Colorado.

He is survived by his soul-mate, Pat Mandernach, of Oregon; 3 sisters, Lois (Donald) Gould, of Sterling, Sharon Wescott, of Rock Falls, and Jill Spencer (Doug Hall), of LaSalle; a brother, Robert Mendoza of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday from 4-5 PM followed by a celebration of his life at 5 PM at McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
