Jennie Lee Milroy, 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL.
Jennie was born September 4, 1935, in Yorktown, IL, the daughter of Fred and Florence (Franks) Thompson. She married Donald J Milroy on October 9, 1954, in Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2008. Jennie was a long- time member of the Sterling First Church of the Nazarene where she received the Distinguished Service Award for her many years of faithful service to the local ministries. Jennie enjoyed baking, talking with friends, volunteering for her church, and spending time with her family whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by her sister Phyllis (Jack) Kelly; two nephews, Brian (Cathy) Kelly, Brad (Nikki) Kelly; and one niece, Suzy (Dante) Perino; nine great nephews and nieces; and seven great-great nephews and nieces.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents.
Per Jennie's wishes a graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, October 1, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Owens of Sterling First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sterling First Church of the Nazarene.
