DIXON- Janet R. Hallman, age 75, died peacefully at her home in Dixon Thursday, June 7, 2018.
Janet was born on June 1, 1943 in Mankato, Minn. the daughter of Victor and Norene (Severns) Freeberg. Janet married George Hallman on May 9, 1964 in Mankato, Minn and were married for 52 years. She was Owner and Operator of several area businesses with George. She loved to travel and cruising. Janet was an avid gardener, enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. She was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Ann (Matt) Sisson of River Hills, Wis., Denice Lynn (David) Doss of Sterling, Kristine Rae (Todd) Kurth of Maple Grove, Minn.; two sisters, Iva Lou (Charles) Burke of Brownsdale, Minn. and Rita (Daryl) Schoemaker of Kasota, Minn.; one brother, Jerry (Judy) Freeberg of Mankato, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Jan Weir of Sterling; two brothers-in law, Art Zuhlsdorf and Gene (Vicki) Hallman both of Kasota, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Abigail Sisson, Tyler Doss, Dylan Doss, Emily Doss, Hunter Kurth, Reilly Kurth and Fischer Kurth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7:00 PM Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sterling with Reverend Kirk Nuegebauer officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mankato, Minn.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling and the Dixon Elks Lodge.
