NELSON – James Shore Moeller passed away February 4, 2017.

He was born on November 27, 1955 in Sterling, the son of John Hartzell and Elizabeth Hope (Shore) Moeller. At an early age, Jim showed his skill at fixing things. At seven, his mom took him from class to fix a water pump.
Jim attended Nelson School and was a 1973 graduate of Rock Falls High School. He attended SIU from 1973 – 1977. He graduated from Bradley University in 1978 with two degrees in electrical engineering and computer technology.
Jim was an avid reader and loved science fiction books and movies. Though he was never married, he was always the uncle "all kids wanted". He loved hearing about his nieces and nephews education, travel and hobbies.
He was employed at the Dixon Cement Plant from 1982 until its closing in 2002. He then worked at Sterling Steel from 2002 – 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother John Moeller in 1995 and his brother-in-law David Marriett in 2011.

Survivors include his sister Ruth Marriett of Loves Park and his brother Mark Moeller; his sister-in-law Susan Ferris; his aunt Mary Moeller; his nephews: Paul (Adrienne) Marriett of Loves Park, Jacob Moeller of Wright / Patterson AirForce Base in OH; nieces: Libby Wolfgram of Rockford, Marcia Moeller of Custer Park, IL, Danika Moeller of Braidwood, IL, Elizabeth Marriett of Seattle, WA and Cassandra (Levi) Howard of Kalena Airforce Base, Okinawa, Japan; and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday February11, 2017 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 11 AM with Reverend Irene Lewis-Wimbley officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
A memorial will be established.
