James R. Blair, Sr.
James R. Blair, Sr., age 76, of Chadwick, died Sunday, July 15, 2018 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.
James was born December 26, 1941 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of George T. and Theodora M. (Horton) Blair. He served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War. "Once a Marine, Always a Marine". He married Judy Miller on February 10, 1967 in Sterling and was last employed at Teelee Popcorn in Shannon as a supervisor until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of Chadwick; two daughters, Sandee (Kevin) Fackler of Defiance, Ohio and Cathy (Joe) Dane of Chadwick; one son, Scott (Casey) Blair of Warrenville; one sister, Norma Hazelton of Calif.; ten grandchildren; and three great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmie Blair, Jr.; one brother, Buster Blair; and one sister, Barbara Bley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 4 -7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 520 Holcomb Avenue, Milledgeville. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Chadwick with Reverend Christine Schoon officiating. Burial with military honors will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
