James "Jim" W. Dillon, 88 of Sterling, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Morningside of Sterling.

James was born on August 12, 1931 in Decatur, IL, the son of Roy R. and V. Ruth (Bennett) Dillon. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. Jim married Diane Johnson on May 8, 1955 in Nachusa, IL. He worked for Commonwealth Edison for over 30 years. Jim was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, playing cards and most of all, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Diane; three children, Steve (Tina) Dillon of Rock Falls, Jill Dillon Massey of Rock Falls and Scott (Lynn) Dillon of Normal, IL; six grandchildren, Tasha (Tim) Dowd, Ross (Megan) Dillon, Kelsey Herren, Nick (Gretchen) Massey, Sydney Dillon and Cole Dillon; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dean and Ben Dillon.

Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial with Military Honors will conclude at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harvest Time Bible Church or Happy Tails in Rock Falls.
