Jaime Garcia, 84, of Sterling, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 in his home. Jaime was born on September 23, 1937 in Monterrey, Mexico, the son of Jose and Antonia (Rosalez) Garcia. He was a strong believer in God who attended church at First Baptist in Sterling every Sunday for 51 years. He loved to sing and play his guitar. Jaime always prayed for protection over his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was an avid leader. His family had so much love and respect for him. He loved watching basketball and baseball. His greatest love was ministering to everyone about Jesus, and singing and playing his guitar for his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Brad) Garcia-Free, of Sterling; and Evelyn (Scott) Leuschke of MN; one son, Noe Garcia of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Nelly Garza of Peoria, and Yolanda (Beto) Castaneda of Rock Falls; three brothers, Jorge (Fina) Garcia of Houston, TX, Raul (Lazara) Garcia of Rock Falls, and Evaristo Rosalez of Dixon; 9 grandchildren, Ariel, Tiffany, Brittany, Berogan, Emily, Carter, Dawson, Jake, and Dalton; and 5 great grandchildren, Mila, Alaric, Leira, Mya, and Deegan.
Jaime was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; and his previous wife, Francisca Brainerd.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family services will be held.
