Jack W. Radke, 85 of Sterling, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his home.

Jack was born on March 27, 1932 in Elgin, the son of Walter and Hazel (Meline) Radke. He served in the United States Coast Guard in the 1950's. Jack graduated from Elgin Community College and then attended Columbia College. He married Carol Massey on September 2, 1958 in Sterling. Jack worked for local radio stations, WSSQ, WJVM and WSDR, for more than 60 years until his retirement in spring of 2017. For many years, Jack looked forward to his annual trip with old friends to attend the Bix Beiderbecke Festival in the Quad Cities. He was a lifelong Chicago White Sox and Green Bay Packers Fan.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol; his three sons, Stephen W. (D'Layne) Radke of Washington D.C., Jeffrey W. Radke of Milwaukee, WI and Gregory W. (Ivett) Radke of Carol Stream, IL; and two granddaughters, Eleanor Radke and Sydney Radke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, 505 1st Avenue.
