BRADENTON, Fla. – Glenn M. Schutt Jr., age 92, formerly of Rock Falls died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Bradenton Hospice House.
Glenn was born on March 31, 1925 in Sterling the son of Glenn and Minnie (Speidel) Schutt. He married Ruth Ella Zarr on October 12, 1945 in Sterling. She died July 20, 2014. Glenn attended Iowa State University and joined the Civil Air Patrol. He loved flying small planes, at one time he owned and flew an ultralight aircraft. Glenn took his first sky dive at age 65. He enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiling with his family and friends and his favorite dog Spot. He was a lifelong farmer in rural Rock Falls and Prophetstown.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria (Hans) Hollinsworth of Bradenton, Fla.; one grandson Brian Ruttenberg of Rolling Meadows; two great grandchildren, Mason 13 years and Tessa Ruth 11 years of Rolling Meadows.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private graveside services will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls;
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to CGH Medical Center, Sterling.
