Gerald E. Phillips, 82, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL.

Gerald was born June 14, 1936, in Savanna, IL; the son of Carlton and Emily (Rowland) Phillips. He married Ruth Ann VanKampen in April, 1958, in Fulton, IL. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2018. He was employed as mechanic with John Krahn Guffys in Savanna for 36 years, then with Riverbend School Dist. where he retired. He loved working on cars, lawnmowers, golf carts etc. He loved his family and friends and was always there for them. His bright blue eyes and smile will be missed by many.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Cossman of Fulton; a son, Jerry (Pan) Phillips of Fulton; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grand children; a sister Dianne England; and a brother, Jack (Judy) Phillips.

He was preceded by parents and a brother in law.
