LYNDON, IL – George E. "Poppy" Tiemann, 77 formerly of Lyndon died Sunday May 27, 2018 in Henderson, TX.
He was born on November 21, 1940 in Detroit, MI the son of Henry H. and Regina M (Apfelbacher) Tiemann. He married Clara Barlow on January 28, 1961. She died October 17, 2000. He then married Helen L. Hardy of Wyoming, IL on October 21, 2001. She died November 14, 2014. He then married Shirley (Hass) Vicars on October 15, 2016. George was employed for 31 years; 3 months; 3 days as a crane operator at Deere/Harvester retiring in April 1994. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Prophetstown.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; his daughters: Amber (Joe) Morris of Cuba, MO, Regina (Carl) Craig of Rock Falls and Antoinette "Ann" (Chris) Ford of Prophetstown; his sons: Adam (Pam) Tiemann of Erie, IL and Ashley (Isabel) Tiemann of St Joseph, MI; his daughter-in-law, Lesia Tiemann of Peoria, IL; his four step children; his sister Mary Ann (Bill) Barnes of Prophetstown, IL; his sister-in-laws: Roberta Tiemann of Cambridge, IL and Betty Tiemann of Athlestine, WI; 11 grandchildren: Nathan (Shely) Hanson, Austin Hanson (Megan Mitchell), Autum (Chad) Anderson, Alicia Craig, Alizbeth Craig, Brock (Meghan) Ford, Halie Tiemann, Hope Tiemann, Ariana (Robert) Cook, Chase E. Tiemann and Megan Tiemann; 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Anthony Tiemann; his grandson Ian Barlow Tiemann; his great granddaughter Emma Lynn Craig; and his three brothers: Henry J., Donald F., and John Tiemann.
A celebration of his life for friends will be held on Friday June 1, 2018 from 5-8 PM at his daughter Ann's home at 203 West 7th Street in Prophetstown.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday at 10:30 AM at St Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown. Burial will conclude at Riverside Cemetery
