George Milne, age 95 of Sterling, died Thursday, June 08, 2017 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

George was born on November 21, 1921 in Sterling, the son of Harry and Marie (Murray) Milne. He is a United States Army Veteran. George served our country from 1942-1945 during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster. He married Doris Reifenberg on May 20, 1950 in Evanston, IL. George was employed by Lawrence Brothers for 31 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; four daughters, Mary Milne of Sterling, Donna Milne (Joe Ferguson) of Escondido, CA, Teresa (Robert) Prescott of Phoenix, AZ and Kathleen (Brad) Ferguson of Tempe, AZ; three sons, William (Theresa) Milne of Rock Falls, David (Lucy Torres-Milne) Milne of Rock Falls and Michael Milne of Sterling; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Barbara Lawson; two brothers, Murray and James Milne and one sister, Catherine Carney.

Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls. Private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held.
