Gene L. Klock, age 80, of Rock Falls, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Gene was born March 20, 1937, in German Valley the son of Samuel and Ruth (Swalve) Klock. He served in the National Guard and later married Martha "Sue" Berard on January 19, 1963 in Polo. He was employed at Radio Ranch for over 50 years as an Avionics Engineer. Gene was an avid Ham Radio Operator and was a member of the Whiteside County Ham Club. He was a strong advocate for peace and justice and belonged to a local peace group. Gene was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was a former member and past president of Sterling Kiwanis.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Klock of Rock Falls; three daughters, Pamela (Greg) Donner of Mundelein, Christina (Craig Storlie) Klock of Madison, Wis. and Kathleen (Cathy Holliday) Klock of New York City, N.Y.; one son, Daniel Klock of Madison, Wis.; two grandchildren, Adam (Madeline) Olson and Karissa Olson; and several nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marjorie Weegens.

Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018, from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM at the church with Reverend Jeremiah Thompson officiating. Private burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Wesley United Methodist Church.
