Gabriel Alexander Huett, 17 of Adrian, MI and formerly of the area, died Sunday December 24, 2017.

Gabriel was born on January 6, 2000 in Alsip, IL the son of Bradley A. and Helen (Schueler) Huett.

Gabriel was a fun, bright and delightful child. He loved reaching out and making friends with others, and he was one to strike up adult-like conversations with adults. Those kinds of conversations would cause people to admire and appreciate him for speaking so smartly to them. Many times, Gabriel had a tendency to strike up funny off the wall conversations that would make people smile and laugh. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Gabriel knew that Gabriel was a mixture of playful orneriness and sweetness. Gabe was on the Autism Spectrum and had Asperger's. Gabe did have challenges in sorting out his feelings and understanding social cues. As a result, He didn't always know to properly express himself or handle social situations. While Gabe preferred spending time and doing things alone, such as playing video games on his PlayStation. He also enjoyed playing and interacting with his friends. Gabriel was curious and had a desire to better himself as a person. While there is so much more that can be said about Gabe, he was extremely loved and valued by both his parents, grandparents, Aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Huett of Dixon, IL; his father Bradley Huett of Adrian, MI; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Brenda Benters of Sterling, IL; his aunts: Sandy Quimby of Aurora, IL, Dawn (Murray) Hickey of Sterling, IL; uncles: Brett Benters of Sterling, IL and Lee (Camille) Benters of Sterling, IL; his aunts: Cheryl and Pam and uncles Scott, Brian, Dennis all of Deckerville, MI; and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling, IL.
