Frank Norman, 83 of Sterling died Wednesday July 5, 2017 at his home.

He was born on June 30, 1934 in Morrison, the son of Frank and Kate (Decker) Norman. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Navy. Frank married June G. White on April 13, 1963 in Sterling. He was employed for 31 years at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Co in Sterling as a crane mechanic. He was a member of the Sterling American Legion Post 296 where had served as a past Commander. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and bowling. He was a member for over 17 years of the board and had been inducted into the Sterling-Rock Falls Bowing Association Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, June; his son, Tim Norman (Dave Beck) of Mesa, AZ; his daughter Kimberly Norman of Sterling; his sister Anna Pace of Moore, OK; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Monday July 10, 2017 from 10 -11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The memorial service will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Jason Borton officiating. Military honors will follow the service.
