Frank E. Yaklich, age 64 of Rock Falls, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA.

Frank was born on December 17, 1952 in Bremerton, Washington, the son of Frank J. and Bernadine (Moore) Yaklich. He married Kathy Dobbeke on September 1, 1973 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico. Frank was employed by Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling for 28 years. He was a past T-Ball coach and Cub Scouts leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting flowers and tending to his vegetable garden. He loved attending auctions and collecting post cards. He donated a lot of his collection to various projects with the Historical Society. Frank was an avid Chicago Cub's fan and had a love for International Scouts. He was always there to lend a hand using his mechanical skills to help family and friends with their cars. He adored his beloved pets and looked forward to his daily rides with his two dogs, Maura and Jane. Frank loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by them all.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; his four children, Greg (Fedia) Yaklich of East Dubuque, IL, Eric Yaklich of Rock Falls, Matt (Tricia) Yaklich of Rock Falls and Valerie Yaklich of Chicago; three sisters, Mary Ollas of Addy, WA, Patricia Earl of Taylor Ridge, IL and Donna (Doug) Matlock of Ellsworth, IL; three brothers, Bob (Kim) Yaklich of Tampico, David (Judy) Yaklich of Rock Falls and Mike (Melodee) Yaklich of Kewanee; 6 grandchildren, Ariana, Aiden, Amia, Brenden, Elliot and Kyleigh and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Avenue. Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Lemmer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tampico.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Happy Tails Animal Shelter in Rock Falls.
