STERLING – Frances C. Clark, 63 of Sterling died Saturday July 18, 2020 at her home.

She was born on March 9, 1957 in Sterling the daughter of Juan and Refugia (Ruiz) Mendoza. She married John L. Clark on April 29, 1989 in Rock Falls. Frances had worked as a tele communicator / supervisor for the Sterling Police Department from 1977 – 1990. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had enjoyed singing in the church choir and singing karaoke. Frances was also a member of the Sterling Family Moose and the Sterling American Legion Auxiliary. She had enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, John; their two sons: John Mark Clark of Fort Worth, TX and Matthew Luke Clark of Sterling; her sisters: Marie Merced of Sterling, Lola Rodriguez of Montgomery, IL and Esther Mossey of Sterling; her brothers: John (Bennie) Mendoza of Sterling, Raul (Bonnie) Mendoza of Clinton, IA and Arthur (Sally) Mendoza of Rock Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Masks will be required as well as social distancing requirements will be enforced with a 50 person at a time rotation for a visitation to be held on Tuesday July 21, 2020 from 4-6 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling, with the Reverend Bruce Ludeke officiating. Burial will conclude at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the Mayo Clinic and Hospitals.
