Floyd "Ed" Royer, 73 died Friday January 22, 2021.

He was born on November 4, 1947 in Rock Falls the son of Floyd Everett and Evelyn (Silvey) Royer. He attended Rock Falls School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army from September 7. 1965 until September 8, 1968. He married Connie Sue Johnson on February 10, 1967 in Rock Falls. She died April 13, 2012. Ed had worked for 30 years at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company and when they closed was a supervisor in the shipping department. He then worked at HCC in Mendota for approximately 12 years. Ed was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He had enjoyed playing cards and watching old Westerns on TV.

Survivors include his three daughters: Becky McKinley, Tracy (Sean) Fowkes and Jill Royer all of Rock Falls; his grandchildren: Ed and Cameron McKinley; Brady, Mackenzie and Syrinidie Fowkes; and Klarady Royer; his sisters: Alice (Joe) Billings of Sterling, Nina Holloway of Rock Falls and Marsha Chapinski of Sterling; his brother Al (Tara) Royer of Rock Falls; his mother in-law, Maggie Johnson; his sisters in-law: Joan Atilano and Willie (Jerry) Clayton; his brother in-law Mike Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Jackie, Vern and Larry Royer; and his sister Judy Barger.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2021 from 9:30 – 11 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Richard M. Russo officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

Memorials are preferred to be given in his memory to St Andrew Catholic Church or School.
