Florence L. Propheter, formerly of Sterling, died Monday, June 5, 2017 in San Diego, CA.
Mrs. Propheter was born September 15, 1923 in Dixon, the daughter of Edward D. and Margaret G. (Murphy) O'Malley.
Florence graduated from Dixon High School in 1941 and married Robert A. Propheter, June 6, 1942. Mr. Propheter died May 1, 1994.
Survivors include five sons, Michael, Patrick (Ginny) of Dixon, Timothy (Ann) of Rock Falls, Marc (Christine) of Geneva, and Christopher (Anita) of Naperville; two daughters, Mrs. Barry (Nancy) Passini of Wausau, WI, Mrs. Jeff (Anne) Dollarhide of Scottsdale, AZ, twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter Margaret Ann "Peggy" Propheter, two granddaughters, Maighdlin "Maddie" Bentley, and Megan Propheter, two brothers and two sisters."
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:45 AM on Tuesday, June 13th at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with Monsignor Thomas Bales, celebrant, officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory to St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.
