Faye Wise, age 76 of Sterling, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.

Faye was born on March 21, 1941 in Athens, Alabama, the daughter of Mabin and Mable (Brown) Chapman. She married Clifton R. Wise on June 27, 1959 in Alabama. Faye worked as a seamstress at Kline's Department Store in Sterling for many years and retired from Sterling Federal Bank. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling. Faye was the director of the Four Seasons travel club for many years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling and the Alter and Rosary Society.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clifton; five children, Clifton (Tina) Wise, Jim Wise, Mark (Leslie) Wise, Joe Wise and Lori (Phil) Cain; seven grandchildren, Ryan Wise, Craig Wise, Jimmy Wise, Jamie Wise, Kassidy Wise, Megan Cain and Elizabeth Elrod.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Chapman.

Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, 505 1st Avenue. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with the Reverend James R. Keenan, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.
