Esther D. Gann, 81 of Fulton, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna.

Esther was born on December 18, 1939 in Fairhaven Twp, IL, the daughter of Harvey and Christine (Houzenga) Wiersema. She married Larry E. Gann on April 29, 1974 in Rockford. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2013. Esther worked for Watt Publishing in Mt. Morris for many years. She was a member of Dutchtown Church of the Brethren in Milledgeville.

Survivors include her daughter, Margie (Kerry) Wiersema of Fulton; her best friend and faithful companion, Gizmo; one sister, Kathy (James) VanZuiden of Fulton; two brothers, Bernard (Carol) Wiersema of Fulton and Larry (Kathy) Wiersema of Fulton; two grandchildren, Amanda (Bill) Shallow of Punta Gorda, FL and Robert Smith of Rock Falls; four great grandchildren, Paul Zellers, Drake Zell, Cameron Zellers and William Shallow; and four step great grandchildren, Brittany Shallow, Caitlin Shallow, Tara Shallow and Nicholas Shallow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Gerald Wiersema.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Koch officiating.
