Erick F. Olivas, 31 died Monday April 22, 2019 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born on September 20, 1987 in Dixon, the son of Hugo and I. Cristina (Carrillo) Olivas and was a graduate of Lincolns Challenge Military Academy in Rantoul, Illinois. Erick had been employed at Applebee's in Sterling. He enjoyed music and playing his saxophone, and enjoyed spending time with his adopted son and daughter Kingsley Dubois and Alexzandria Wilsey, as well as with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his parents, Hugo and Cristina Olivas of Sterling; his fiancée Ashley Dubois; his brothers: Roberto "Bobby" Carrillo of Honolulu, HI, Hugo (Stephanie) Olivas of Sterling and Oomar (Emily) Olivas of CO; nieces and nephews, Saleste, Bobby Blayde, Zoe, Kai, Isabelle and Hugo J; aunts and uncles, Yolanda (Jorge) Zuniga, Queta (Antonio) Delgado, Alejandro (Elva) Olivas, Gabriel (Alicia) Olivas, Bernabe (Asenath) Olivas and Gloria (Enrique) Villa; cousins, Jorge (Vianney) Zuniga, Brenda (Julio) Holguin, Cynthia (Jaime) Reyes, Claudia Delgado, Marco Delgado, Luciano Delgado, Alejandra Olivas, Axel A. Olivas and Hugo L. Olivas.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 25, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday and 10:30 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling, with the Reverend Jorge Bravo officiating.
