Doris J. Bryant, age 79 of Chadwick, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home.

Doris was born on June 2, 1935 in Sterling, the daughter of Herbert Leslie and Marguarite Frances (Turner) Saunders. She married Thomas H. Bryant on January 5, 1957at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Doris was a member of SS. John and Catherine Catholic Church in Mt. Carroll. She was loved by all she met, and many more called her grandma and mom even if they were not related. Doris' smile could light up a room. She loved unconditionally.

Survivors include her husband Thomas; two daughters, Jeanette (Jeff) Baughman of Campbellsport, Wis and Jennifer (Todd) Brubaker of Milledgeville; two sons Thomas J. (Melissa) Bryant of Mt. Carroll and Ted (Becky) Bryant of Chadwick; one daughter-in-law, Julie Bryant-Foster; two sisters, Nancy (Paul) Pechous of Dubuque, Iowa and Pat (Joe) Lendman of Dixon; two brothers, Bill (Fern) Saunders of Sterling and Curt Saunders of Florida; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Todd and Bruce Bryant; two sisters and three brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling, with Reverend Dennis Atto officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
