Delores A. Schmitt, 79 of Sterling died Wednesday October 18, 2017 at Morrison Community Hospital.

She was born on October 26, 1937 in Mount Morris, IL the daughter of Hubert and Marie (Rasche) Nalley. She married Donald Schmitt on December 20, 1969 in Mount Morris. Throughout her working life, Delores had worked at the former McGregor Magazine and Cable Printing both in Mount Morris, and she later retired after 30 years at the former National Manufacturing in Sterling. She enjoyed supporting her sports teams the Chicago Cubs and the San Antonio Spurs.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; her son Randy (Kara) Schmitt of Nixa, MO; her grandchildren, Taylor and Keagan Schmitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Raymond Nalley.

Visitation will take place on Sunday October 22, 2017 from 2-4 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The funeral will follow on Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home, with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
