DeWayne Cardwell, 57, of Rock Falls, IL, died suddenly Monday December 11, 2017, at the Northwestern Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL.

DeWayne was born September 14, 1960, in Sterling, IL; the son of Herbert H. and Beulah F. (Smith) Cardwell. He married Phyllis M. Rivera on October 20, 1984, in Rock Falls, IL. He was employed as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal for the last 13 years. DeWayne loved music. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his boys. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Cardwell's Tap, a three generation business that he proudly worked in for 39 years, and more recently at Big D's .

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Rock Falls; two sons, Dustin (Molly) Cardwell and Ryan (Gillian Schultz) Cardwell, both of Rock Falls; one grandchild due in February; his mother, Beulah Cardwell, of Rock Falls, one brother, Willy (Michelle Davis) Cardwell, of Rock Falls; and his mother-in-law, Elsie Rivera, of Rock Falls. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Herbie.

A visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, IL, from 5 – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 14, 2017. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be at the McDonald Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 15, 2017, with Pastor Scott Porter officiating. A memorial has been established.
