ROCK FALLS - David T. Allen, 60, of Rock Falls passed away in the early morning hours of December 20, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family. David was born on February 13, 1959 in Clinton, IA, the son of Lowell and Lucille (Overstreet) Allen. He was a graduate of Rock Falls High School class of 1977, where he met the love of his life, Dorothy O'Neal. They were married on July 1, 1978.

David started his career washing cars and trimming trees at Williams Auto Body Shop when he was only 14 years old. An extremely loyal and hard worker, David labored his way up to Shop Foreman. After 45 years of employment, he was forced into an early retirement in July 2019.

David Theodore, meaning "beloved gift of God," was just that. He was a man of God and a gift to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband and father, who loved spending time with his family and his beloved German Shepard Mya Girl. David enjoyed working outside in his yard, woodworking, and simply helping others. He also had a passion for model rockets and airplanes, which he lovingly passed on to his grandchildren.

David is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; father, Lowell Allen of Yorkville; sister, Karen Allen of Baraboo, WI; and brother Ron Allen of Yorkville. He is lovingly remembered by his "pride and joys," daughters Michelle (Carlos) Reyes of Rock Falls, Melinda (Jestin) Squires of Ewing, and Barbara (Ryan) Greenman of Paducah, KY; son David Allen II (Charis) of Rock Falls; grandchildren, Austin and Allison LaFavre, Isaac and Alexa Reyes, all of Rock Falls; Jevan, Broxton, and Haizely Squires of Ewing; and Meadow Greenman of Paducah, KY.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille Allen; baby brother Allen; and father and mother-in-law Eugene and Barbara O'Neal.

There are no words to describe how deeply David will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
