David R. Franco, 55 of Rock Falls died Monday June 10, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on December 19, 1964 in Sterling, the son of Manuel and Socorra "Coco" (Mendez) Franco. He was a graduate of Sterling High School and Welding Technical School in Tulsa, OK. He had been employed as a welder most recently at Allied – Locke in Dixon. He was a Chicago Bears and CUBS fan and had enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include is his sisters, Nadine (Dana) Hicks of Sterling and Delores "Lola" (Terry) Lynch of Sterling; his nieces, Amber Stutzke Chavarria (Paul Heflin) and Nicole (Cody) Dornes; his nephews, Jonas Gragert, Wade (Julia) Hicks and Bret Hicks; his great nephew, Dax David Stutzke Heflin and his great niece, Nova Leigh Dornes; grand nephew and niece, Aiden and Tula Mae Hicks; and his step great nephew and niece, Max and Mia Dornes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 14, 2019 from 4-6 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling, with a brief service to follow at 6 PM.
