David "Dave" Samuel Wright, age 65 of Rock Falls, formerly of Chicago, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home.

Dave was born on April 19, 1953 in Chicago, the son of Samuel J. and Margaret M. (Engel) Wright. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Martha Jane "Janie" Dutton on August 31, 1973 in Chicago. Dave was a foreman and employed by Bodine Electric Company in Chicago, then later at NGI until retirement in 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Janie; two sons, David "Jay" (Amy) Wright of Lake in the Hills, IL and Edward J. (fiancé, Angie) Wright of Box Springs, GA; six grandchildren, Megan, Stephanie, Courtney, Dylan, Audrey and Jaxon; seven siblings, Rona (Tom) Schmidt, Christopher (Hope) Wright, Christine Thacker, Gary (Connie), Helen (Boone) Dawson, Verle (Teresa) Wright and Hubert (Cindy) Wright; 37 nieces and nephews; 51 great nieces and nephews and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Wright.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 12:00-3:00 P.M. at the Centre of Elgin Heritage Ballroom, 100 Symphony Way, Elgin, IL 60120. Arrangements were completed with the McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls.
