Patriotic Emblem

Dan E. Royer, 58, of Lyndon, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home.

Born December 4, 1957 in Sterling, he was a son of Robert and Doris (Wallingford) Royer. He married Roxanne Sellnow on September 23, 1984 in Dixon. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2001.

Dan was a truck driver for Dohrn Trucking in Rock Falls for over 15 years. He attended Harmon United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with family and had a strong work ethic. Dan loved visiting his mom and helping cook Sunday dinners, feeding the squirrels and filling the bird feeders.

Those left to honor his memory include his son, Danny (Lacee) Royer of Amboy; a daughter, Shanna (Bill) Hillers of Polo; sisters, Delores Estes of Sylva, NC, Mary McCoy of Dixon, Cindy Griffin of Wyanet and Becky (Joe) Reyes of Dixon; a brother, Bob Royer of Harmon; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a sister Janet Sims.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7 PM Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. A memorial has been established. To send condolences visit www.mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com
