Dale Edwin Wildemuth, 98, of Prophetstown died on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling. Dale was born on September 23, 1923 in Atkinson, IL, the son of Glen and Grace (Egert) Wildemuth. He married Jean Anderson on August 30, 1947 in Geneseo, IL. She predeceased him on October 3, 2017. Dale was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered by his family as having an adventurous spirit.

Survivors include one daughter, Christine (Frederick) Palmer of Downers Grove; one son, Derek (Cyndee) Wildemuth of Prophetstown; one sister, Grace Loftus of Geneseo; one brother, Clarence (Bonnie) Wildemuth of Blue Grass, IA; two grandchildren, Matthew (Alyson) Palmer of Englewood, CO, and Jill (Kevin) Henthorn of Downers Grove; and two great grandchildren, James and Sarah Henthorn.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean; and one brother, Ivan Wildemuth.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 308 E 3rd St, Prophetstown. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am with Reverend Antoni Krepowicz officiating. Burial will conclude at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, or Rock River Hospice and Home, 2706 Avenue E, Sterling, IL 61081.
