Clifford Garriott Jr, 87 of Sterling died Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Sterling Pavilion.

He was born on June 13, 1930 in DeWitt, IL the son of Clifford and Helen Virginia (Leisner) Garriott Sr. and was a graduate of Sterling High School. Clifford served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Ruth C. Janssen on February 3, 1952 in Sterling. Clifford was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Sterling; a charter member of the Sterling High School Hall of Fame and had been inducted as well into that Hall of Fame; he was a member of the American Legion and had served on the City of Sterling Police and Fire Commission.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; his daughter Christine (Donald) Verando of Danville, IL; three sons: Curtis L. Garriott of Charleston, IL, David C. (Becky) Garriott and Scott (Amy) Garriott both of Sterling; his sisters: Lucille (Harold) Woodin and Barbara Woodin both of Polo, IL and Anna Chesier of Sterling; his brother Walter Earl Garriott of Morris, IL; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Shirley Welker.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 26, 2017 from 1-3 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow on Monday at 10 AM in the 1st Christian Church of Sterling. Burial with military honors will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sterling High School Hall of Fame.
