Cherry Lou Ebenezer, 81 of Dixon, formerly of Rock Falls, died, Friday, September 14, 2018 peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Cherry was born on May 1, 1937, the daughter of Leo G. and Iva R. (McGlaughlin) Strike. She married Donald Ebenezer on November 24, 1955 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. Cherry worked at Lee Wayne Advertising (now Halo) for over 30 years and retired in 1997. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and meeting with her friends from "coffee club". As a former Rock Falls cheerleader, she was proud of the family legacy of cheerleaders and remained everyone's biggest fan as she attended her grandchildren's sporting events. She spent her retirement years wintering in Okeechobee, FL, where she enjoyed the company of their friends in their 4PM "therapy group". Cherry cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her husband, of almost 63 years.

Survivors include her husband, Don; two daughters, Cindy (Keith) Rauschenberger of Elgin and Linda (Jon) Gieson of Dixon; one son, Donnie Ebenezer of Sterling; eight grandchildren, Johnna (Derek) Diedrichs, Brad Clemens, Brooke Helms, Beau (Alyssa) Ebenezer, Kacy Rauschenberger, J.D. Gieson, Karl Rauschenberger and Kylie (Kolton) Morgan; and seven great grandchildren, Madison, Austin, Ana, Chloe, Tinley, Kendall and Fayth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Strike.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Rock Falls with Reverend Bree Truax officiating. Burial will follow at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock River Hospice and Home or Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.
