Carolyn "Sue" "Ralphie" J. Wasmund
Carolyn "Sue" "Ralphie" J. Wasmund, age 69, of Coleta, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Carolyn was born May 9, 1948 in Sterling the daughter of Robert and V. Lucille (Maxwell) Kunde. She married John L. Wasmund on August 11, 1968 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2003. She was employed by Dr. Seevey in Sterling for several years and later worked for GE for 30 years from 1971-2001. Carolyn was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling. She loved animals and owned dogs her entire life.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne (Neal) Syverson of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; her son, John (Dawn) Wasmund of Coleta; her brother, James (Betty) Kunde of Sterling; her brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" (Claudia) Wasmund of Coleta; three grandchildren, Brennan, Colin and Madelyn Syverson all of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; four nieces, Robin (Larry) Churray, Julie Woessner, Joannie (Kennyon) Whipple and Courtney (Tim) Coleman; one nephew, Christopher Kunde; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one great niece, Jenna Whipple.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, November 10, 2017 from 10 – 10:45 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling. Memorial services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the church with Reverend Daniel Behmlander officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Happy Tails.
Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
