Carole S. Finnicum, 83, of Sterling, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2021 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling. Carole was born August 6, 1937 in Rock Falls, the daughter of William "Tubby" and Maxine (Garner) Howard. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1955. She married Owen Hagen in 1957 and had 3 children together. They divorced in 1969. She married Jim Edeus in 1971, they later divorced. She married Howard Finnicum in 1982. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Carole was a lifetime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling. She worked at Eagle Foods for 11 years and Walgreen for 22 years, retiring in 1999. She was active in bowling for 34 years. She was also involved with the Rock River Bowling Association and the Sterling Bowling Association. Carole loved playing Scrabble, playing Bingo, and was a member in two card clubs; pinochle and bridge for many years. She was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. She loved entertaining friends and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Mike Hagen of North Carolina; two daughters, Jodi LeFevre, and Nancy (Ron) Jenson, all of Sterling; 7 grandchildren; Erin and Lindsay Hagen, Quin (Hailley Smith) LeFevre, Danielle (Adam) Finkle, Zach (Stephanie Larson) Jensen, Sawyer (Katlyn) Hagen, and Tanner Jensen; 9 great grandchildren, Breyman Dile, Coen, Hudsyn, and Delaynie Finkle, Mariah, Oliver, and Leo Jensen, Owen Hagen, and Jameson LeFevre; one sister, Rosemary Davis of Sterling; one brother, Steve Howard of Florida; brother-in-law, Jack Morgan of Rock Falls; several step children and step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard; three brothers, William, John, and Paul Howard; one sister, Jennifer Morgan; sister-in-law, Ellen Howard; and brother-in-law, Bud Davis.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Regency Care Activity Center, 612 St. Mary's St, Sterling. Interment will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
