Carol R.Karg, 76, formally from Muscatine, IA, passed away on April 2, 2017 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

Carol was born on June 8, 1940 in Hutchinson, MN to John and Leila (Lickfett) Karg. She grew up in Hopkins, MN where she met and married William R. Kloster in July of 1961. They moved their lives to Muscatine where they raised their two children. Carol worked and excelled as a secretary/book keeper for many years and happily retired from Grace Lutheran Church.

Carol later met the love of her life, Merle Beverlin, after a mutual divorce. The two of them moved to a small farm in Muscatine, with their beloved dog, Jakey, where they lived for nearly 40 years together. After the passing of her companion in 2015, Carol moved to Sterling, IL , to be closer to her family.
Carol was given the gift of a wonderful life. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Carol: learning to forgive, love deeply, the art of gardening and always keep a mattress pad on the bed. She is was always there to be a loyal confidant, a shoulder to lean on , but most importantly a great mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Despite the full life she lived, her work here is done and God has welcomed her daughter home.

She is survived by one son, William (Catherine) Kloster, and a daughter, Kristine (Tim) Ratliff; 6 grandchildren; Lance (Alyshia)Malott, Carlayne (Ryan) Kloster, Samantha (Manuel)Contreras, Allison Ingles, Christopher (Maria) Ratliff and Trenton Ratliff; 5 great grandchildren. Her beloved dog, Jakey, has become the newest member of her daughter's family.

Visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Jason Borton officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Drury-Reynolds Cemetery in Reynolds with Pastor Dan Baldwin officiating. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
