Carlyle Ernest Sandrock, 82, passed away October 20, 2012, at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Carlyle was born August 27, 1930, in Prophetstown, the son of Ernest and Berniece Sandrock.
Carlyle married Audrey Ackland, December 10, 1950, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. They celebrated 61 happy years of marriage and are the parents of four children.
Survivors include his loving wife, Audrey; four children, Mark (Kathy) Sandrock of Prophetstown, Christine (Douglas) Johnson of Mahomet, Duane (Ann) Sandrock of Plant City, FL and Steven Sandrock (fiancé Jennifer) also of Prophetstown. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Marcus and Brian (Elizabeth) Sandrock of Prophetstown, Matthew (Jennifer) Johnson of Normal, Nicole Johnson of Savoy, Scott and Bradley Sandrock of Prophetstown, Anthony (Tami) fields and Wendy Thomas of Plant City, FL and great grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca and Blake Sandrock all of Prophetstown, Meshael Fields, Misty (David) Jimenez, Melinda Fields, Erika (Cole) Troise and Kaylynn Thomas all of Plant City, FL, great great grandchildren, Madison Fields, Rylynn and Cael Troise all of Plant City, FL and a sister, LaVonne (Jack) Duling of Shellsburg, IA and an uncle, Clyde Nelson of Rock Falls.
Carlyle was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, C. Douglas Sandrock.
Carlyle was a lifetime farmer in Prophetstown. He was on the church council at Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church and the First Lutheran Church of Prophetstown. He also served on the Crest View School Board and the Sauk Valley College Agriculture Advisory Board.
Carlyle touched many lives and will be greatly missed. His three loves in his life included his Love of God, Love of Family and Love of Farming.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 23rd at the First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday also at the First Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown, immediately following the service. A memorial has been established in his name.
